Hey I know its not an illustration, but  I think its such a worth while cause and project that it needs to be shared!
The family run wool shop I work for HCS Crafts are attempting the largest knitted union flag EVER!
We’re still waiting to hear back from the guinness records to see if it’s a world record, but in the mean time the HUGE flag is going to be used as a giant pick nick blanket for Stony Stratford’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, with other ideas of local events to be used afterwards…

Its been a fabulous project to get as many local knitters from 10years old up to 70 or 80ish knitting the 6,156 tension squares that creates this giant 7m x 4m flag.

The final stage of this flags journey is to be either taken apart into the lap sized blankets to be auctioned off, or sold as a whole for about £1 a square for Willen Hospise a charity based in Milton Keynes

A couple of the photos are taken from Anglia News who came to film us today which is pretty cool right?

check out our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/hcscrafts.co.uk to see more updates on how and where our Giant Flag is!
